The SEC charged Tyler Landon with insider trading after he overheard his wife, a manager at TravelCenters of America Inc., discussing a merger between BP p.l.c. and TravelCenters on several work-related calls. Laudon allegedly used the information he overheard to make &1.76 million in illegal profits from trading. Loudon agreed to a partial judgement with disgorgement and prejudgment interest and a civil penalty in amounts to be determined by the Court. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas has announced criminal charges against Loudon.
